Our Sydney office is seeking a motivated Consultant with 3 – 10 years’ experience to join our Occupational Hygiene and Monitoring team.
About the role
JBS&G is looking for a Hazardous Materials/Occupational Hygiene/LAA Consultant to join our Occupational Hygiene and Monitoring team in Sydney. You will be part of a dynamic team that works collaboratively with clients across a range of projects both nationally and locally. An awareness of NSW and national environmental legislation will be beneficial and you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from some of Australia’s leading environmental and contaminated land professionals.
Our team are fast, capable, experts in all aspects of environmental consulting, from assessment and remediations, completing onsite assessment programs, environmental impact assessment, managing specialist sub-consultants, working with stakeholders and government regulators and producing high-quality deliverables. Relevant experience and a keen willingness to learn will be advantageous. JBS&G will provide you will the tools to enable career development, with long standing client relationships, interesting projects, collaboration and idea generation across all sectors and service streams.
About you
The successful candidate will:
• Hold tertiary qualifications in occupational hygiene, environmental science/engineering, or a related degree.
• Hold a current SafeWork NSW Asbestos Assessor Licence (LAA).
• Have good site-based work abilities including conducting environmental sampling programs, and supervision of remediation/asbestos removal works.
• Be experienced in conducting hazardous building material surveys.
• Be experienced in conducting chemical hazard and exposure assessments.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills – evidence of strength of technical report writing skills will be sought.
• Good working knowledge of the theory and practical application of current health and safety legislation, Codes of Practice and relevant Australia Standards.
• Current unrestricted Australian driver’s license.
• Ability and willingness to travel if required.
• Comply with all statutory and company HSE policies, standards and procedures, and instigate and follow safe work practices.
