About the role
As a Lifeguard, you will provide high levels of patron supervision, safety and education, while ensuring customers achieve enjoyment and high levels of service.
You are a team player with excellent communication and customer service skills, well developed time management skills and a good understanding of aquatic centre operations and have worked in a customer focussed environment.
It is essential that you possess the following:
- Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate (includes advanced resuscitation and pool rescue)
- Current Provide First Aid Certificate
It will be highly regarded if you possess:
- Pool Plant Operators Certificate
- Current Working with Children Check
- Swim Teaching Certificate
- Basic computer skills including point of sales
To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:
- Experience in a similar role, involving customer service or providing direction/instruction to others
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to resolve problems and deal with complaints
- Ability to work well as part of a team
This position may be expected to work across both the Aqua Jetty and the Rockingham Aquatic Centre. Applicants must be flexible and available to work in line with the facilities opening hours. Positions will be offered with a guaranteed minimum between 5 to 15 hours per week (based on requirements of the facilities and availability of the candidate).
Aqua Jetty operates seven days per week, from 5.00am to 9.00pm Monday to Friday and 6.30am to 7.00pm Saturday and Sunday. All shifts will fall within these hours of operation.
Rockingham Aquatic Centre operates seven days per week, during the months September to April. All shifts will fall within these hours of operation, view the City of Rockingham website for operating hours.
What we offer
The hourly rate for this position is as follows:
$30.49 per hour
