At the brand new 86 bed, Our Lady Mercy Place Harris Park, Mercy Health will bring its healthy ageing approach to the local community, delivering on a long-held vision by the local Maronite Catholic community to deliver better living for people as they age.
With support from the Service Manager, the Lifestyle Coordinator role is responsible for the coordination of meaningful lifestyle programs to help overcome boredom, inactivity, isolation and depression for residents living in Aged Care. In this role, you will create, facilitate and evaluate individual and group lifestyle programs to ensure that our residents have the best day possible, each and every day. You will also provide leadership, training and support to a team of lifestyle assistants and volunteers.
About the role:
Permanent full time role based in Harris Park, NSW
Make a difference in aged care by coordinating a meaningful lifestyle program that overcomes boredom, inactivity, isolation and depression with our residents.
Create, facilitate and evaluate individual and group lifestyle programs to ensure that our residents have the best day possible each and every day.
Provide leadership, training and support to a team of Lifestyle Assistants and volunteers
You will be supported and guided by the Service Manager.
About you:
Certificate IV in Lifestyle & Leisure (Diversional Therapy), or similar
A minimum of 12 months experience in a lifestyle or personal care role in an aged care environment
First Aid Level II certificate
Highly motivated and engaging personality with a desire to teach and make a difference within the home
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills and an excellent relationship-builder
Previous experience delivering recreational activities and the ability to work within a team
