Reporting to the Client Service Coordinator, the Lifestyle Support Worker provides practical support to people with a disability to live their chosen lifestyle, engaging in appropriate activities.
Also, this role will provide a range of supports including in-home support, learning and life skills development, community access, day and overnight respite/short-term accommodation, ensuring client dignity and self-worth is improved and maintained by such positive and meaningful interaction. This role requires flexibility availability to work across a 7-day roster and several shifts, including weekends, sleepover, and covering staff leave.
What do I need for the role?
- Qualification/s in Disability Services or Community Services or Aged Care; or relevant industry experience.
- Ability to support, empower and enable those with disabilities and their families to live quality lifestyles.
- Understanding of quality standards and general principles of service provision to people with disabilities and their families/carers.
- Demonstrated skills in effective verbal/written communication, and conflict resolution
- Current drivers’ licence and access to a private vehicle for business purposes.
- Access to extensive not-for-profit salary packaging options.
