As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities. You will empower participants to lead fulfilling lives by assisting with daily activities, fostering independence, and promoting social inclusion.
Requirements:
Previous experience in disability support or a related field is preferred but not required.
Compassionate and patient with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules.
Valid Australian driver's license and access to reliable transportation may be required
First Aid and CPR Certifications
NDIS Worker Screening check
NDIS Orientation Module Certificate
Current WWCC/ Blue Card
Certificate III in Individual Support or Cert IV in Disability/Aged Care, or equivalent qualification (Preferable)
Key Responsibilities
Provide personalised care and support according to individualized care plans.
Assist with Daily Living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that respects the dignity and autonomy of each individual.
Encourage participation in recreational and social activities to promote community integration.
Administer medication and monitor health conditions as necessary.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other Support Workers to ensure comprehensive care and support.
Maintain accurate documentation and reports on individual progress, Daily Shift Reporting and any incidents.
Transporting participants where necessary while on shift
