SalaryMelbourne Steel Are looking for a Light Gauge Steel and Structural Detailer to join our team and contribute to our cutting-edge projects. Melbourne Steel specialise in Light Gauge steel and Structural steel prefabricated elements to the Construction industry. As a Detailer, you will play a crucial role in creating detailed drawings and plans for steel structures using FrameCAD and Teklas's advanced software and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Structural Design: Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirements and translate them into Light Gauge steel structural designs.
- Drafting and Modeling: Utilize FrameCAD's and teklas software to create detailed 2D and 3D models of steel structures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Material Takeoffs: Generate accurate material takeoff lists to support procurement and project planning.
- Quality Assurance: Review and validate drawings and models to ensure precision and adherence to design specifications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the project team, including architects, engineers, and project managers, to coordinate and communicate design changes and updates.
- Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation of all project designs and revisions.
- Code Compliance: Ensure that all designs comply with relevant building codes and regulations.
- Coordination: Work closely with the assembly and steel manufacturing team to ensure designs are manufactured accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architectural engineering, or related field (preferred) but not essential.
- Experience in Light Gauge Steel Detailing and or structural detailing within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in FrameCAD and Tekla software or similar Light Gauge steel detailing software. (Framecad software training Avaiable)
- Good knowledge of construction materials and techniques.
- Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations.
