About the Role

We are seeking a talented Light Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor. Your main accountabilities will be to manage a team to safely deliver at their optimal performance and to ensure the timely delivery of maintenance activities. You will also be a champion for business improvement and help support your team on this journey.


This role will be based at Mining Area C on a 2:1 roster including 7 days/ 7 nights.

Reporting directly to the Auxiliary Maintenance Superintendent, responsibilities include:

• Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
• Lead the improvement of maintenance processes in accordance with BHP Operating System principles.
• Manage planned work and unplanned breakdowns to ensure equipment is back in a timely manner and ATSW is adhered to.
• Supervision of specialist contractors to ensure technical and quality standards are achieved safely.
• Single point of accountability at work areas ensuring hazard/risk identification, reviewing and signing Task Based Risk Assessments (JHA) and verification that identified controls are in place and working.
• Completion of supporting and reporting maintenance documentation and 1SAP administration.
• Report incidents and accidents and collate detailed incident, accident and injury statistics.
• Identify opportunities to improve the performance of people, processes, and systems. 


About You

• Heavy Diesel, Electrical, Mechanical Fitters trade certification or Tertiary qualification is desirable.
• Supervisory or Step up experience in a mining maintenance environment
• SAP Experience advantageous
• Ability to communicate within a team environment
• Sound judgement including balancing competing priorities
• Positive and motivated people leader with a strong focus on culture and team diversity
• Ability to be trained to identify and prevent risks
• Understanding of processes and procedures
• Experience with conflict management and resolution
