The Role:
Hawk is seeking a Trade Qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic/Diesel Fitter to work out of our Mackay depot in a combination of workshop and field service role. The role is full-time Monday - Friday with on call benefits on weekends and public holidays, and potential for a flexible roster and RDO. Overnight stays are required for the field service portion of this role.

Duties will include but are not limited to:
Diagnosis, repair and maintenance of mechanical air, diesel and auto electrical systems in accordance with OEM specification and client requirements
Field Service - preventative maintenance and diagnosis and repair in the field
Workshop - general maintenance, major repairs, midlife and full life rebuilds
Coaching, mentoring, training of apprentices and trades assistants
Participation in an on-call field service roster
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
Good communication skills and professional presentation
Capability to work independently but also as part of a collaborative team
Trade Qualification as a Diesel Fitter, Light vehicle or similar Mechanical Trade
Generator, electrical tickets and air compressor experience highly regarded
Experience using maintenance software is an advantage
The ability to work and problem solve under pressure with the resources available
The ability to produce quality work with attention to detail, whilst maintaining a sense of urgency about the job
Good time management skills
The ability and willingness to follow processes and procedures with an emphasis on quality, safety and customer service
