This is a rare opportunity to join our National Transport business and take ownership of our NSW region as the Linehaul Manager.
Based within our Huntingwood site, and reporting to our State Manager, the role will be responsible for ensuring safe, effective, efficient and responsive service delivery. With a focus on operational performance, driver engagement, culture and compliance.
With a focus on maximising revenue, minimising cost and increasing market share whilst ensuring a commitment to safety, compliance and all relevant legislation. You will drive continuous improvement while ensuring our key principles of people, quality, service, and costs are upheld.
What you will deliver on:
- Efficiently schedule and manage drivers, ensuring proactive communication
- Optimize fleet allocation for reliability and profitability
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Maintain asset audits and manage truck and trailer stock
- Provide exceptional customer service by proactively communicating freight status
- Monitor vehicle servicing and conduct regular toolbox meetings
- Control contractor usage and recognize and address unsafe behavior
- Investigate and report incidents/near misses
- Foster a safety-focused culture
- Liaise with stakeholders and warehouse staff
- Participate in safety committee meetings and investigations
- Ensure equipment inspection and testing
- Meet asset maintenance schedules and report maintenance needs promptly
What will you bring:
- Experienced in fleet allocation and scheduling driver teams
- Experience in logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or equivalent
- Chain of Responsibility and Fatigue Management
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team, with a proven record of effectively driving high-performance cultures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills,
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated high-level stakeholder engagement.
