Ngaanyatjarra Essential Services (ES) is a division within Ngaanyatjarra Council Group delivering a range of services to Aboriginal Communities throughout the Goldfields and Central Reserves Region.
The Essential Services division is primarily concerned with the delivery of maintenance and construction services for mains power, water, and sewage services to these communities.
About the opportunity:
Ngaanyatjarra Essential Services is seeking a knowledgeable, motivated and enthusiastic Linesperson to join the team for a permanent full-time position on a FIFO roster from Perth or Kalgoorlie to the Ngaanyatjarra Lands.
Working under the direction of the Essential Services Assistant Manager, the role of the Linesperson is to assist the powerline team in the completion of preventative maintenance repairs on aerial power networks.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be required to:
- Working autonomously or as part of a team on ‘public’ utilities in remote central Western Australia.
- Assist with other duties as directed to ensure the effective operation of the maintenance team and essential services assets.
- Reporting of work completions, materials ordering, asset condition and SHQE as required by management.
- Maintain a high standard of work within the limits of the resources available.
- The servicing, repairs, fault-finding and upgrades to power distribution networks both underground and aerial.

The successful candidate will possess:
- Current Trade Qualification - Linesman or Equivalent.
- Current ‘C’ driver’s licence and preferably also a ‘HR’ or ‘HC’.
- Current White Card, EWP, Working at Heights, First Aid Course.
- Experience and knowledge in the maintenance of power generation/ distribution systems.
- Ability to pass DAS and Employer Medicals.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in computer use, modern IT and mainstream officer software.
- Demonstrated experience in aerial powerline maintenance and repairs
