Our client, a leader in medical technology, is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join their Infrastructure Services team in Brisbane.
Contract Duration: 6 months
Onsite 5 days a week at Brisbane Technology Park
About the Role:
As a Linux Systems Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing systems, leveraging your expertise in Linux and associated hardware. You'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of technologies, including networking, storage, and middleware platforms, in addition to Linux.
What You'll Do:
- Monitor and support the Linux estate, responding to user requests and enhancing monitoring systems.
- Continuously improve the environment by optimizing configuration management and build infrastructure.
- Support and administer storage and backup network infrastructure.
- Automate and maintain periodic patching of Linux VMs and interact with stakeholders from Security, Release Management, and Development teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues independently, collaborating with other teams when necessary.
- Manage the build and operational activities of Linux machines in data centers.
Requirements
What We're Looking For:
- 8+ years of technical experience in Linux OS.
- Detailed understanding of operating system concepts and distributed computing environment concepts.
- Experience in installing and configuring Linux workstations and servers, particularly Redhat distributions.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash and Python, with automation experience preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
- Basic understanding of Jenkins/AzureDevOps or any CI/CD tool.
- Knowledge of Openshift or Kubernetes, autosys, Prometheus, splunk, etc., is a plus.
