Being in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The Feedlot has a capacity of 53,333 head, employs approximately 60 team members, and has a strong reputation for producing award winning grain-fed beef for key domestic and international customers.
About the Role
The JBS Riverina Feedlot is currently recruiting for a highly motivated, experienced self-starter to join the dedicated livestock team in this leadership role.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordination of the Induction team in conjunction with the Livestock Supervisor
- Assisting with overseeing all aspects of cattle induction, including coordination of drafting/weighing of cattle in accordance with JBS specifications
- Preparation of incoming cattle paperwork, including maintaining quality assurance and generating invoices for payment
- Completing required paperwork for all exiting cattle
- Inventory management as required including calibration, auditing and stocktaking
- Team engagement, development and training in a positive and proactive manner
- Ensuring team compliance with JBS Australia policies, including but not limited to: WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare & Environmental obligations
About You
- Previous Livestock handling and/or Feedlot experience
- Strong commitment to animal welfare, health & nutrition
- Previous experience managing and coordinating teams and the associated performance of these teams
- Strong written and excellent verbal communication skills, high levels of self-motivation and strong planning capabilities
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
