About Our Role
An opportunity exists in the full-time permanent role of Load Planner / Inventory Controller to be based at our Bathurst vegetable and snack lines processing plant. Simplot Bathurst employs over 180 people and having been a part of the local community since 1926, continues to produce Edgell products, as well as products for Birds Eye and Chiko.
An investment of $90 million is currently being made at the site. This investment will transform the site into a frozen vegetable centre of excellence, enable increased production capacity, and ultimately help boost local and export volumes. The works which are anticipated to be completed in 2024, will see the site's facilities upgraded, the extension of existing production areas, and the installation of new equipment, including new vegetable processing technologies.
Reporting to the Logistics Area Manager, in this Mon-Fri role you will be accountable for the coordination of transport for ambient and frozen finished goods from our Bathurst site to our distribution centres / storage facilities in addition to controlling the site inventory of finished goods.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will liaise with a range of stakeholders including production staff, Load Planners, Inventory Controllers, truck drivers, freight providers, and Simplot site management to undertake the following duties;
  • Coordinate the dispatch of finished goods (ambient & frozen) to both intrastate and interstate distribution centres within documented timeframes via external freight contractors
  • Daily stock counts for consumables
  • Inventory reconciliation (system vs actuals) with a focus on zero variance
  • Support site raw material cold storage in maintaining maximum capacity levels
About You
  • Demonstrated experience within a logistics, warehousing, scheduling or planning role preferably within an FMCG environment
  • Knowledge of stock receipt & dispatch processes
  • Inventory control experience
  • Chain of responsibility knowledge
  • Ability to problem solve and make effective decisions in a timely manner
  • Possess a current LF forklift licence (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of fatigue management principles
  • Intermediate user of Windows based software applications (incl. Microsoft Office suite of products) with a knowledge of JD Edwards (JDE) ERP or PRMS preferred
