About the current opportunity

As the Local Area Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery and quality of services within the Perth Metropolitan area. This role focuses on managing operations, overseeing service delivery, managing staff, ensuring compliance, managing and overseeing budgets associated with each service stream, driving continuous improvement to meet the needs of clients, and leading your teams to deliver high-quality supports. 

About the Role

Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations within your designated area, developing and implement operational policies, procedures, and protocols in line with organisational standards and regulatory requirements, monitor service delivery to ensure compliance with quality standards and contractual obligations, and drive operational efficiency by monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).

Staff Management and Development: Lead, motivate, and support a team of service coordinators and direct support professionals, enhancing their skills and performance through guidance, supervision, and mentorship, and conducting regular performance reviews, setting goals, and providing constructive feedback and coaching.

Financial Management: Managing budget allocations and expenditure within your designated area, ensuring resources are utilised effectively and efficiently, monitoring financial performance against targets, and taking corrective actions as necessary to maintain financial sustainability.

Quality Assurance and Compliance: Implement quality assurance processes to monitor and evaluate service quality, client outcomes, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement strategies to address gaps and enhance service effectiveness.

Client Support and Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and their families or carers, working collaboratively with clients to develop and review individual support plans that are person-centred and aligned with their goals and preferences, and addressing client feedback and concerns in a timely and professional manner to continuously improve service delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with local community organisations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance service provision and promote community inclusion for individuals with disabilities, and represent the organisation at meetings, forums, and events to raise awareness and advocate for the organisation.

Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure organisational compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards by overseeing the compliance register and its functions.

About you:

We're seeking someone with passion, dedication, and a flair for creative problem-solving. Your ability to inspire and mentor our service coordinators will foster a culture of engagement and peak performance. Additionally, your talent for building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders will forge valuable partnerships. To achieve this, you will also need to demonstrate the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Disability Studies, Psychology, or a related field. (Desirable)
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in a similar management role within the disability services sector.
  • Excellent leadership with the ability to effectively navigate change whilst producing outcomes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of disability services, including person-centred approaches, NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) principles, and relevant legislation and regulations.

Other Requirements:

  • Commitment to the values and mission of Strive.
  • Understanding of disability services and related regulatory environment is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
