Chemcouriers Brisbane is looking for a Local Relief Driver who will contract directly to our Owner drivers in the local Brisbane fleet. The long-term vision is that you can build the financial history for your business and get yourself into a financial position to become an Owner Driver yourself. Working hours can vary from 4am start to 8am start, working 10-12 hours each day, depending on who you will be driving for that day and the work available. The fleet is modern, well-maintained equipment – mainly Japanese or Euro.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience in a variety of trucks from Rigids up to Truck & Dog.
- Experience using scanners and driver-based technology.
- Able to drive an 18spd & B-double would be an advantage.
- Have a Bulk DG License or be willing to obtain.
- Level of business acumen to negotiate rates with each Owner Driver depending on their truck size and the work.
- Present well and be able to get along with our team and the Owner Drivers.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Essential Requirements for your business:
- Pty Ltd Business
- GST Registered ABN
- Hold your own Public Liability insurance.
- Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
- Pass a Pre-employment driving assessment with our driver trainers.
- Clean 5-year traffic history and able to pass a National Police Check.
This is not an immediate start position and will require 3-4 weeks of processing before all requirements have been met to begin working.
