Overall Forge is Australia's largest forging shop and operates as part of the Precision Castparts Corporation group. Working predominantly in the oil, gas and mining markets we specialise in the manufacture of Nickel based super alloys and other specialty metals. We also supply to aerospace and power generation industries.
About the role
The Logistics Clerk is responsible for receival, preparation and shipment of goods within despatch.
Experience in a despatch and receiving goods is essential!
This role requires a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check Certificate to be obtained prior to the company making an offer of employment to the preferred candidate in order to meet the requirements of the company’s Defence Industry Security Program, Known Consignor Program and Trusted Trader Program.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the despatch activities comply with all statutory regulation codes and practices.
- Ensure QA check is completed and signed off by the Technical Services Manager before any job is dispatched.
- Ensure all jobs are identified and if required stamped as per customer requirements and correctly packed prior to despatch
- Ensure all dispatches are packed safely, securely and as per customer requirements.
- Ensure transport consolidation minimizing freight cost.
- Scrap and rubbish management
- Drive continuous improvements in the despatch area.
- Optimize warehousing techniques to maximize use of space and facilities
- Work closely with commercial carriers to ensure orders are shipped in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight and process relevant documents as required.
- Receiving and checking off inbound goods. Delivery of goods.
- Perform any tasks as directed by the despatch supervisor, shift supervisor or management.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Comply with PCC Ethics code of conduct.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures including Quality and Safety Cardinal Rules
- Other duties within skills, knowledge and abilities
Education and Experience
- Minimum 5 years practical experience in logistics and warehousing
- Forklift licence required.
- Dogging licence advantageous
- Welding experience advantageous
- Ability to obtain an ASIC white card
