- Attractive salary package of up to $115,643.92 pa (salary range $93,295 – $102,941). Total remuneration package includes salary plus employer's 11% contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced procurement professional to join a centralised team to deliver effective procurement and contract management outcomes for the NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES). This role will primarily focus on the procurement of goods and services, to support operational response requirements for our volunteer members.
Your primary responsibility is to ensure efficient procurement and administration of key procurement and contracts for the agency. Some of your key duties include:
- Providing effective support to NSW SES procurement processes, which includes contributing to the preparation of procurement documentation supporting tender processes and preparing request for quotes (RFQ).
- Managing supplier relationships by monitoring contract performance targets.
- Leading and mentoring staff and ensuring the delivery of quality, customer-focused, timely, and accurate procurement services.

The New South Wales State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is a volunteer-based emergency and rescue service with a small staff support team. As a prominent influencer of other emergency service agencies, NSW SES collaborates closely with its partners to modernise and expand its volunteer base. The organisation's primary objective is to safeguard lives and protect local communities.
While major responsibilities are for flood, storm operations, and tsunamis, the NSW SES also provides the majority of general rescue efforts in the rural parts of the state. This includes road accident rescue, vertical rescue, bush search and rescue, evidence searches (both metropolitan and rural), other forms of specialist rescue that may be required due to local threats, Urban Search and Rescue, and Community First Response.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and develop productive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience in NSW Government procurement, and/or in-depth knowledge of the NSW Government Procurement Policy Framework would be advantageous.
