We are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of our food products. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of our goods while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. About the Role:
- To develop and achieve agreed Warehouse & Distribution business plans, operational budgets (including costs, working capital and CAPEX) and performance targets / KPI’s to deliver the operation’s operational objectives.
- To lead, manage and develop the culture and employee resources of the Warehouse and Distribution areas consistent with corporate values.
- To ensure that agreed company policies and business processes are in place and adhered to;
- To ensure that the Warehouse and Distribution function operates within applicable legislative requirements such as safety, quality, environment, human resource management.
- To develop and maintain key relationships with peers, sales functions, head office functions, suppliers, and customers.
- Prepare weekly and annual leave rosters for warehouse and distribution staff to ensure sufficient resources are always available.
- Ensure all deliveries are routed in the most efficient order.
- Coordinate after hours support for delivery vehicles.
- Oversee the receivals and storage of all products purchased ensuing all company procedures and policies are adhered to.
- Coordinate and manage warehouse inventory and stocktake process to ensure they are carried out and completed in required timeframes.
- Coordinate all maintenance for Warehouse and Distribution areas as per company requirements and policies.
- Ensure scheduled cleaning is conducted for Warehouse and Distribution areas to acceptable standards and requirements.
- Ensure all documentation is filled out correctly, accurately and filed as per company policy
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is highly regarded.
- Proven experience in logistics management, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of the company’s supply chain dynamics and operational challenges across various product lines and customer segments.
- Proficiency in Human Resources Management practices, including knowledge of pertinent legal requirements such as Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Employee/Industrial Relations.
- Knowledge and adherence to consumer protection regulations, particularly those pertaining to perishable food items and related industry standards.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and streamline processes.
- Awareness of relevant governmental, industry, and community structures and initiatives impacting business operations.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to inspire and drive change both independently and collaboratively.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong logical and lateral thinking abilities, coupled with a flair for innovative problem-solving.
- Proficient in the operation of Delivery Vehicles and Warehousing systems to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Competence in utilizing computer-based communication and information management tools such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Must be a permanent resident or citizen of Australia.
