The Role 

This is a BRAND-NEW role, initially on a contract basis, charged with supporting a new business unit dedicated to Gifting. The role will report to the GM – New Ventures and be responsible for all aspects of logistics for both main Gifting into stores and DC, and Corporate gifting through 3PL. 

In this varied and exciting role, the primary responsibility will be to make recommendations and set up systems to launch the new Gifting offering through both stores/online, and Corporate. A strong understanding of systems and 3PL will be essential, as will a problem-solving mind-set. Experience liaising with Technology/IT teams to create new delivery pathways will be essential. Experience in Neto/Joor or similar platforms would be a plus. Advanced excel is essential.   

This role will be working across all the Gifting logistics functions within the omni-channel supply chain, including Freight forwarding, Warehousing, ERP, inventory management, 3PL management and last mile. 

Sitting within the new Gifting team but working closely with the broader Logistics team and Head of Logistics, this will be a critical role within the business to successfully launch and build Oroton’s new Gifting business. 

This role is a key member of the launch team dedicated to driving the success of this new channel, working alongside sales, design, and logistics superstars to deliver on strategic objectives. 

Initially the role will be a 12 month contract, with opportunity to extend based on targets met in the initial year of activation. 

Key Responsibilities of the role: 

  • Day to day operations of the Gift logistics function across both D2C via stores and online, and Corporate. 
  • Set-up a new 3PL partnership for Corporate gifting  
  • Build strong and effective relationships, with accountability and transparency between all supply chain partners and suppliers 
  • Create and implement processes in relation to the efficient and cost-effective management of DC, logistics and freight for Gifting BU.
  • Identify issues and lead end-to-end investigations with cross functional stakeholders (tech, finance, project management, and merchandising).  
  • Undertake ongoing monitoring, development and implementation of inventory systems and operational procedures 
  • Play a role in identifying, reporting, and presenting recommendations relating to issues that could impact costs and efficiency across the logistics function 
  • Responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of KPI and audit requirements across all Gifting 3PL’s. 
  • Work closely with the Customer Care Team to mitigate customer related issues. 
  • Conduct 3PL, DC and store visits regularly to review and ensure our standards are being met  
  • Working towards a best-in-class logistics standard and driving continuous improvement throughout the function.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team 
  • A team player who enjoys process improvement
