Reporting to the General Manager, the Superintendent Operations is a key leadership role in Aurizon's NSW Bulk Operations and is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Aurizon Logistics Services. This hands-on leadership role will see you working on a wide range of operational challenges and opportunities. will include providing safe, efficient and customer focused solutions including the management of staff & customers.
- Lead and effectively manage all resources safely to meet work priorities, customer and business requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive better business performance.
- Employ planning strategies to Identify opportunities for synergies across the portfolio (such as port services, rail and other services).
- Achieve the agreed level of DIFOT and ensure on-time running to meet the customers expectations and set KPI's.
- Implement and monitor programs and training for all work group staff to ensure high performance levels are maintained.
- Develop and monitor the financial budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and revenue maximised.
- Direct and manage the allocation, utilisation and deployment of resources to meet all operational and customer needs.
- Hands-on leadership role working on a wide range of day-to-day operational challenges and opportunities.
- Effectively manage and mentor a diverse team to plan and execute operational requirements.
- Ability to influence, lead and negotiate with diverse work groups.
- Demonstrated extensive business acumen, strategic thinking and business planning skills.
- Intermediate computer skills and use of operational systems (SAP preferred).
- High level of interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and an ability to effectively manage a wide range of stakeholders
- Extensive knowledge of operations, preferably of the rail and road industry.
- Sound knowledge of road coordination and terminal operations.
- Substantial leadership, people management, negotiation and communication skills.
