Our client is a local manufacturer with a strong reputation for design and manufacturing products for the mining, logistics, infrastructure and agriculture sectors, utilise leading edge systems and technology. Due to internal movement and growth, we’re seeking a Machine Operator to join their team in their machine shop.
The role:
- Ability to read and understand instructions, technical drawings, specifications and supplier catalogues.
- Ability to accurately use Ball Gauges and Micrometres.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with other internal staff.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work in a team based environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction and show initiative to achieve quality outcomes.
What we’re looking for:
- Trade Qualification in Fitting and Machining or equivalent (desirable)
- Forklift licence
- Experience using automated machinery (CNC operated machines).
- Experience using engineering measurement tools (micrometres, dial indicators etc.).
- Safe, accurate and efficient use of hand tools and general Workshop equipment.
- Adhering to safe work practices.
- Overhead crane use – knowledge of load limits and correct load practices.
Benefits:
- $30-$40 per hour + 17.5- per week tool allowance
- Full-time permanent role
- Monday to Friday hours with opportunity for overtime
