Machine Operator

We're on the lookout for a driven individual to join our team at our Alexandria yard. This role entails collaborating within a close-knit team, skillfully operating equipment, and meticulously handling materials to ensure the smooth and precise processing of scrap metal.   

Your new role

Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will safely operate machinery to sort, grade, and purchase metals in a fast-paced environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Load & unload trucks, skip bins and trailers
• Operate equipment, including forklift and/or excavator (where licensed)
• Ensure customers receive a high level of service
• Grading and sorting materials
• Demonstrating personal responsibility for and commitment to OH&S policies and procedures

To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:

• Forklift (LF) license - non-negotiable
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• A can-do attitude, you will be open to undertaking training in order to diversify your skills
• Excellent attendance, reliability and attention to detail
• We are open to training the suitable candidate for the job

Desirable criteria:

• Heavy machinery experience
• Scrap metal experience

Hours of work

07:00 am – 3:30 pm
