APT (Advanced Polymer Technology) is the leading global manufacturer of polyurethane-based materials, acrylic coatings and synthetic turf products for sporting and recreational applications.
As part of a significant expansion, we are looking for a Full Time Machine Operator to join our team at our Extrusion Factory based in Dandenong South.
About THE ROLE
The Machine Operator is responsible for the production processes in accordance with standard operating procedures and safe work practices to produce synthetic yarn which must comply with defined product specifications.
This is a Full-Time role day or night shifts with the hours being 7:00am to 7:00pm or 7:00pm - 7:00am. The Extrusion Plant operates based on Seven Day Continuous Shiftwork 4 days “On” 4 days “Off”.
Main duties of this role are:
- To comply with APTA & OH&S workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- To report incidents or accidents to Factory Manager.
- To carry out duties in accordance with the policies and procedures defined in our Quality system (ISO 9001:2000).
- Be familiar with and follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and associated Work Instruction Sheets.
- Be familiar with and follow the Quality Control Procedures (QCP’s) and associated Work Instruction Sheets.
- To accurately complete Production Order documentation and Quality process control tests documentation according to defined procedures.
- To advise the Factory manager or the delegated authority if production falls out of specification.
- To flag yarn faults and advise Factory Manager.
- To advise the Factory Manager of any machine condition which occurs which reduces the capability of the machine to produce product to specification.
- To participate in continuous improvement activities to improve safety, product quality, efficiencies & production output.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace at all times.
- Wearing of the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
About YOU
- Educated to Year 10 level or three (3) years’ experience in manufacturing operations.
- Proven capability to operate a range of specific machinery to produce synthetic yarns (desirable).
- Ability to process documentation in accordance with procedures.
- Must be able to identify and rectify yarn defects.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes (desirable).
- High level of verbal and written communication.
- Physically able to complete the physical demands of the job, including standing for prolong periods, bending, lifting, kneeling, & good eye hand coordination.
- Ability to work 4 days/nights ‘’On'' 4 days/nights ‘’Off''.
