Please note this role will operate on Night Shift.

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the position of Finishing Operator will work across the department to efficiently provide general tasks that support material preparation, cutting, inspection, packaging, reconciliation and granulation of banknotes within the Finishing Department. This will also include foundation skills in meeting NPA’s compliance obligations, safety and housekeeping requirements.
The key responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:
- Perform all packaging tasks - be responsible for flow, handling and storage of product, raw materials and ancillary equipment in and around work area
- Undertake scanning, palletising, exchanging, completing paperwork and data entry
- Perform counting and knocking up duties on the guillotine process
- Conduct spoils counts and handovers to of finished product
- Machine setup, fault finding including low level diagnostic work, operation, throughput, safety, quality and security of product including reconciliations, material usage, non-conforming materials and control of spoilage
- Prompt and accurate recording of production process operations, including production throughput, spoilage, reconciliations, labour and material usage
- Perform relevant end of day duties to ensure that processes are shutdown and ready for operations the next shift, all material is secure and that the area has been securely locked down
- Coordinate the flow of product and materials with other production processes
- Provide timely and accurate information to the Shift Supervisor regarding product quality, standards, machine performance
About you:
The following skills and experiences will be highly desired;
- 1+ years general Machine Operator experience
- Experience in performing administrative duties/Intermediate computer skills
- Experience operating a guillotine or other cutting type machinery would be an advantage
- Experience working in a highly secure manufacturing business with tight production deadlines
- Knowledge of SPC or Lean manufacturing an advantage
