Machine Operators are rwquired to operate machinary, monitor processes and conduct quality control throughout their operations on site, whilst maintaing WH&S standards and the use of appropriate PPE.
Operating Machinery: Operate various types of machinery and equipment used in the production process, such as filling machines, packaging machines, labeling machines.
Setup and Calibration: Set up machines prior to production runs, ensuring they are calibrated correctly according to product specifications and quality standards.
Monitoring Processes: Monitor machine operations during production to ensure they are running smoothly and efficiently. This includes observing gauges, meters, and other indicators to detect any abnormalities or malfunctions.
Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on products to ensure they meet predetermined standards. This may involve visual inspections, measurements, and other quality control procedures.
Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with machinery as they arise, such as mechanical breakdowns, jams, or malfunctions. Take appropriate corrective actions to resolve problems and minimize downtime.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts, to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures when servicing machinery.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, downtime, production quantities, and any quality issues encountered. Report any significant issues or deviations from standard procedures to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other members of the production team, such as supervisors, quality control inspectors, and maintenance technicians, to ensure efficient workflow and timely resolution of issues.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, efficiency, and product quality. This may involve providing feedback on process improvements, participating in training programs, and implementing best practices.
