About the role
Making beautiful products that last forever starts by building great teams, and we’re looking for a self-motivated Machine Operator to join our team at Austral Bricks in Wollert, VIC. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for safely setting up and operating machinery to ensure bricks are manufactured efficiently and with optimal quality.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Setting up, operating and cleaning mechanical equipment in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) at all times;
- Ensuring compliance to work, heath, safety and environmental policies and procedures;
- Setting controls, fixed attachments and materials to prepare for operation;
- Perform basic problem solving and diagnosis of machine issues and escalate non-routine issues to maintenance team for resolution;
- Perform simple operator care/preventative maintenance tasks;
- Completing QC requirements to ensure compliance of product;
- Housekeeping tasks;
- Machine set-up changes as required; and
- Maintaining quality and operational paperwork.
- Australian Drivers Licence.
- Forklift licence (preferred)
- Experience in operating manufacturing machines.
- High regard for workplace health and safety.
- Comfortable with performing physical work/ manual labour.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Positive ‘can do’ attitude.
