Exciting oppertunity in Bundaberg for Quarry operations!
A quarry batcher is a role typically found in the construction or mining industry, particularly in quarries where materials such as stone, gravel, sand, or minerals are extracted. The primary responsibility of a quarry batcher is to oversee the batching process, which involves measuring, mixing, and preparing materials for use in construction projects or other applications.
Key responsibilities of a quarry batcher may include:
Material Measurement : Accurately measuring and recording quantities of raw materials such as aggregates, cement, and water according to specific formulas or recipes.
Mixing Operations : Operating machinery or equipment to mix materials together, ensuring proper proportions and consistency. This could involve the use of concrete mixers, crushers, or other specialized equipment.
Quality Control : Monitoring the quality of materials being batched, including checking for impurities, ensuring proper grading, and performing tests to verify strength and other properties.
Equipment Maintenance : Conducting routine maintenance on batching equipment to ensure proper functioning and prevent breakdowns or malfunctions.
Safety Compliance : Adhering to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries during batching operations. This may involve wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), implementing safety guidelines, and participating in safety training.
Record-Keeping : Maintaining accurate records of materials used, batches produced, and any quality control tests conducted.
Communication : Collaborating with other team members, such as quarry workers, supervisors, and construction crews, to coordinate batching activities and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Problem-solving : Identifying and troubleshooting issues that arise during batching operations, such as equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or quality concerns.
Equipment Operation : Operating heavy machinery and equipment used in the extraction, processing, and transportation of materials within the quarry. This may include excavators, loaders, crushers, conveyors, and screening plants
Overall, a quarry batcher plays a crucial role in the efficient and safe production of materials for construction projects, helping to ensure that quality standards are met and that materials are delivered on schedule. As this is a cross trained role you are also expected to do a quarry plant operator role. This plays a critical role in the day-to-day functioning of a quarry operation, contributing to the production of essential materials for construction projects while prioritizing safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
