Due to growing client requirements, Tequa has a new role available for a machine/directional drill operator, to join our growing Civil Construction team in the Gippsland region. This is a full-time, permanent position, based in Traralgon, Victoria.

With an extensive footprint on contract work and clients extending from Mallacoota to east Melbourne for over 40 years, Tequa is seeking suitably qualified and experienced Machine Operators / Directional Drillers to join our growing Civil Construction team, to help deliver upon all Company projects, operations, and planned works in a professional and timely manner.
About the Role:
We are looking to grow our team, if you have experience in machine operating, civil electrical infrastructure industry you are encouraged to apply.
Works will include operating company plant, machinery, and equipment, as well as undertake manual labouring tasks as required in the completion of company projects, operations, and planned work. Primarily in the Latrobe Valley and Baw Baw Shire but our work footprint extends to all of Gippsland.
The key responsibilities for this role are:
- Deliver civil work and projects in a timely manner, considering occupational health and safety, environmental and cost-efficient processes.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers to meet customer expectations.
- Operate various Company vehicles, trucks, machinery, plant, and equipment within your skill level and license qualifications.
- Be proactive and great communication skills.
- Work effectively within a team environment and contribute to team outcomes.
About you:
- Construction Induction Card
- 3+ years' experience in the Civil/Construction industry
- Qualifications and experience in operating plant and machinery
- HR Truck license or above (desirable)
- VESI Training (desirable, though not essential)
- Excavator license (desirable, though not essential)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills – the ability to effectively listen and convey information to varying audiences (customers, co-workers, managers, etc.).
- Accountability to meet project objectives and constraints (get the job done), considering Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental and cost-efficient processes to meet Company requirements.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to delivering workarounds and problem-solving solutions on the job.
- A positive and proactive ‘can do' attitude.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills
- The ability to get involved, whilst also contributing to a dynamic team environment.
