The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares and home of Australia's First Carbon Neutral Beef - Five Founders. Mantuan Downs Station, QLD
Mantuan Downs Station is located between Springsure and Tambo, and is approx. 2.5 hours south of Emerald, near Carnarvon National Park. Mantuan Downs has approximately 18,000 head of cattle and is a large-scale backgrounding property covering 134,000ha. Country ranges from large areas of brigalow/wilga/bottle tree scrub to open downs, soft forest hollows and areas of lighter forest and ranges.
The role
Reporting to the Mantuan Downs Station Manager, we are currently seeking an experienced Machinery Operator in a permanent full-time position. The Machinery Operator maintains property roads, undertakes property maintenance, drainage works and erosion control and assists the crew when needed with adhoc general station duties.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience operating a Grader, Loader, Dozer and other machinery
- Have good mechanical knowledge of equipment
- Be able to take direction from the Station Manager as tasks may vary day to day
- Be able to undertake varied station tasks - when there is no grader work to be done, there is always plenty to do around the station (i.e welding, fencing etc..)
- Maintain all station equipment as if it were your own
- Permanent full-time position
