Gulf Hydraulics is a leader in the service and repair of hydraulic cylinders in WA. We want to ensure our quality and service is maintained to the highest standard and to offer our clients a cost effective product range on an ongoing basis to meet with OEM requirements.
About the role
We require a qualified Machinist/ Fitter with experience to manufacture and repair hydraulic cylinders.
Key tasks
• Competency in interpreting drawings and work with workshop team lead to determine components to assemble the equipment and machine setting such as a barrel, rod, piston and gland for assembly to make a complete cylinder
• Experienced using lathes, mills, cylinder hone and other workshop machinery and equipment
• Set torque nuts, bolts and fabricate metal parts to assemble equipment
• Diagnose any fault on hydraulic systems
• Repair, maintenance of any mechanical faults on the equipment
• Read micrometres, vernier inside micrometres and other precision measuring tools
• Pressure and leak test the refurbished cylinders in accordance with OEM, customer or Gulf specifications.
• Bench testing of hydraulic components and accuracy of setting controls to the machines
• Check and ensure accuracy for measurement, record testing and service reports
• Follows all Gulf Administration, Human Resource, Quality, Safety, Health and Environment policies, procedures and instructions

• Previous experience in similar industry
• Strong analytical and ethical skills
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Thorough attention to detail
• Engineering Trades person (Mechanical) – (Fitter and Machinist) Certificate

Salary: $33 - $38 per hour
