Our client uses polymer extrusion technology to coat or laminate paper, board, films, foils and other unique substrates with polymer resin and other master batch additives. This material is converted to standard core sizes and a broad range of reel widths to suit individual customer requirements. .

The machines are highly technical with a variety of PLC from Siemens S7, ABB Control and MEX Software. 

The objective of the role is to ensure all site maintenance and corrective tasks are carried out to ensure reliability of plant and equipment. The person will also be required to support and undertake maintenance and engineering projects to continuously improve the both the capability and reliability of the business.

The role is on a monthly rotation of Day (5 shifts per week) and Afternoon (4 shifts per week)

The role function is to maintain machinery, equipment and services on site so as to achieve optimum production and customer service through:

• Use of trade skills to provide a quality and timely maintenance service
• Following safe work practices at all times
• Following company policies & procedures at all times
• Playing a key role within a team focused on the development and execution of efficient preventative maintenance and continuous improvement practices on the site

The site boasts an exemplary safety record as a result, the successful candidate must demonstrate a strong personal safety ethic, and lead by example.

1. Primary Accountabilities

• Carry out maintenance activities to close out MEX work orders.
• Purchasing of engineering/maintenance parts and confirming goods receipt for payment. 
• Uptime and breakdown reporting and analysis to enable the business to understand its focus.
• Provide technical support, problem solving and continuous improvement to support production and other maintenance and engineering initiatives.
• Participate and maintenance meetings to continuously improve the MEX system and key KPIs in engineering/maintenance.
• Spare parts management in the store 
• Play a key role within a team focused on the development of preventative maintenance practices on the site leading to achieving best practice
• Maintain site equipment and machinery to provide the highest level of machine efficiency and quality
• Analyse root cause machine faults and efficiency losses. Initiate a corrective action and preventative maintenance action to prevent recurrence
• Ensure the timely and effective action and close out of all issued work orders
• Use and promote compliance to the use of SAP
• Fault find machines and equipment by making an assessment of a problem and estimate duration of time to repair.
• Disassemble, assess, repair and reassemble machines, equipment and components
• Respond to machine breakdowns and take corrective action promptly
• Carry out modifications to machines and equipment under instructions from the Engineering Manager/ Coordinator
• Install machinery, tools and equipment to specifications
