The Role The primary objective of this role is to perform maintenance and technical improvements in machines, equipment and installations with reasonable cost, quality, safety and environment aspects, ensuring availability of installations toproduction. Responsibilities include; Ensure electrical plant & equipment is well maintained and safe to use Provide technical support in Electrical, instrumentation and PLC maintenance. Fault finding and problem solving for all installations and major breakdowns on site. Support projects and installation work with electrical. Ensure internal site customers are well supported. Provide electrical support and technical expertise to truck production facility. Provide advice and recommendations on site technical electrical issues including electrical installation, instrumentation and PLC maintenance. When required provide shift cover to alternate shift, weekends or non-standard production hours Utilize Maintenance management system to action and record all work. Provide competent trade skills to ensure equipment is tested and safe to operate. Be involved with projects and improvement works. Lead fault finding to gain solutions to technical issues in equipment breakdowns Provide accurate and proper guidance and advice to apprentices and trainees under your supervision and take an active role in their training and development. Report on preventive maintenance / electrical maintenance issues to the Maintenance Supervisor on a regular basis. Ensure compliance with VGA's Environmental Policy, Workplace Health & Safety requirements, and in general take any reasonable steps and precautions to protect or minimize harm to the workplace, its employees and the environment. Other relevant duties as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/ or Site Management. This role is being offered on a full time permanent basis.
