About the role 

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Engineer You will be responsible for providing engineering expertise to the maintenance and operations functions on all fixed plant equipment across the Onslow Iron project. The position will initially be based in our Osborne Park head office and then transitioning to FIFO from Perth on an 8/6 roster either at Onslow or our Ken’s Bore mine site.

• Deliver fixed plant reliability, maintenance, and engineering support
• Ensure fixed plant maintenance strategies are implemented, optimised, and managed
• Collaborate with the Senior Maintenance Engineer to develop innovative solutions whilst having a proactive approach to enhancing fixed plant maintenance equipment reliability and loss elimination
• Identify and manage fixed plant reliability risk and life cycle asset management
• Development of strategies to increase equipment availability and reliability
• Providing site technical support when needed
• Reporting for reliability, maintenance, and fixed plant operations across Onslow Iron.
• Assistance with identification and management of critical spares

What you’ll bring to the team 

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or similar
• Prior experience in a similar role within the resources industry
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with fixed plant mining/materials handling/equipment reliability 
• Detailed knowledge of mining/port operating environments
• Experience in project start-ups, commissioning, and operational activities
• Safety first attitude
• Solution focused mindset with the ability to be adaptable
• Able to work autonomously
• Excellent problem-solving skills
