Using membrane separation techniques like ultra-filtration, nano-filtration, reverse osmosis, and membrane contactor we offer a range of services including alcohol adjustment, phenolic removal, volatile acidity reduction, taint removal, wine concentration and electrodialysis. We also operate a state-of-the-art vacuum distillation unit for total alcohol removal at our site in Nuriootpa, South Australia.

The Position
VAF Memstar is currently recruiting for a full-time Maintenance Engineer to be based at our modern facility in Nuriootpa, South Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, document, and implement a Maintenance Management System for the membrane filtration plants, distillation units and refrigeration units.
2. Oversee planned preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment such that we minimise unplanned downtime.
3. Analyse historical operational data of the filtration plants and use the data to improve the efficiency and performance of the plants.
4. Work closely with relevant team members on new build projects and assist with writing functional descriptions for control and automation of the plant.
5. Assist site activities relevant to the installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of the filtration and process systems.
6. Use professional judgement and ability to propose different solutions for
software/hardware-related issues and queries.
7. Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving equipment performance, efficiency, and downtime.
8. Maintain and update industry knowledge to support innovation and ongoing
optimisation.
Essential & Desired Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field.
2. Previous experience in the Beverage or Liquid Processing Industry.
3. Knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatics, electrics and electronics.
4. Demonstrated ability to analyse problems correctly, assess a complex range of possible solutions and select the most appropriate to meet customer service and budgetary requirements.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently in achieving goals and prioritising day to day tasks.
6. Experience in Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) is desirable but not essential.
7. Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all organisational levels.
8. Good presentation, written and oral communication skills.
