AddressAlpha HPA is an ASX-listed speciality metals and materials company. You will be working as part of a low environmental impact sustainable business, committed to supporting decarbonisation technologies with their innovative refining process.
As the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, you will be based on-site in Gladstone as part of the site leadership team and will be responsible for the maintenance and reliability functions with respect to their current operations and their Stage2,full scale Major Hazard Facility which has just commenced the construction phase.
You will also be tasked with managing the operational readiness for the plant start-up of the Stage 2 facility in relation to maintenance and engineering functions, the development and management of the maintenance strategies and spares procurement.
The successful candidate will require tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with the ability to set up all systems, recruit your own team and be involved in the design and commissioning of the new plant. In addition, an RPEQ qualification coupled with previous experience in a greenfield project will be well regarded.
This business-critical role will also ensure that the engineering design conforms with all relevant regulations, codes and standards and will report directly to the Site Manager, Yarwun.

- Substantial experience (15+ years) in a similar role in an operations & reliability environment
- Tertiary Qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering with substantial experience in shutdowns, planning, developing & executing maintenance strategy (essential)
- RPEQ Qualification or ability to obtain.
- Experience as a Maintenance Manager in a greenfield/start up site with strong working knowledge of an efficient and effective maintenance system.
- Strong leadership skills across the maintenance functions (up to 20 FTE)
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a collaborative team.
- Ability to influence and negotiate effective outcomes with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, highly pro-active and resilient attitude
Alpha HPA Production Facility is the application of the company’s licensed Smart SX technology to produce a range of high purity aluminium products, most notably their Ultra High Purity Alumina, Ultra High Purity Precursors and Ultra Boehmite.
These products will provide the raw materials used by leading decarbonisation growth industries including LED lighting and lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles.
