Our family owned Australian Business based in the South East Suburbs are a local food packaging manufacturer and are currently seeking a Permanent Maintenance Fitter for an immediate start.
- Day Shift 6AM - 2PM OR 7AM - 3PM

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader you will be responsible for the maintenance, overhaul and repair of machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carries out repairs, alterations and maintenance of presses, conveyors and stackers.
- Maintains plant and equipment associated to the Department, facility and customer's equipment.
- Identifies problems effecting production by means of repair to dies, presses or associated equipment. "Trouble shooting" of equipment and plant in production and post-production. Liaises with other departments to ensure responsibilities are understood and requirements are met.
- Provides detailed information essential to the proper maintenance, repair and upgrade of company assets under your control and informs manager of concerns in regard to these assets.
- Supports areas within your department by temporarily carrying out works and duties of others when they are absent.
- Operate machinery related to the repair/maintenance or manufacture of components for the department or facility. Example lathe, milling machine welding, etc.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Previous experience in manufacturing and maintaining equipment in a volume production environment.
- A good understanding of mechanics, pneumatics and valving and the ability to work to quality standards.
- Have a working knowledge of Quality Systems and HACCP procedures and fully understand the principles of OH&S and consistently works to safe standards.( In particular machine guarding and manual handling associated with operating machinery)
- Good communications skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels and have the desire to supply excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Work in a harmonious team environment and promote a harmonious team environment.
- Must be happy to complete a pre medical - drug and alcohol
