The Role:
Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, this role is key in the delivery of continuous improvement, safety and monitoring of production assets to ensure optimal plant performance and strategic maintenance activities are achieved. It requires a solutions-based approach to work, ensuring planned repairs and unplanned breakdowns are managed efficiently and effectively while maintaining best practice standards to meet customers’ expectations.
Working between the hours of 6am and 6pm on an 8 hour rotating shift pattern.
Your Responsibilities:
- The delivery of reliable, efficient, safe, strategic and routine preventative maintenance activities;
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure production schedules and goals are achieved;
- Responding to breakdown situations to repair to all plant equipment as requested by the relevant Manager/Supervisor
- Working from prioritised Maintenance schedule within our internal maintenance planning system;
- Recording use and stock of critical machine and process parts;
- Maintaining all registers, logs and systems to track repairs, notifications and work activities;
- Liaise with supervisors and machine operators about performance of equipment;
- Develop & maintain a close and collaborative working relationships across the Production, Packing, Freezer and Engineering teams;
- Working to achieve pre-determined and measurable KPIs.
Skills:
- Trade certification in mechanical fitting or related trade, or be currently undertaking an apprenticeship.
- Strong understanding of safety and environmental practices with a commitment to best practice.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound decision-making, prioritisation and time management skills.
- Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
- Flexibility and a can-do attitude.
