Your new role
The Maintenance Fitter reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for site machine set up and adjustment, breakdown repair, preventative maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement of all site production assets and infrastructure. The role supports the operational team in producing a high-quality product safely and supports compliance with all company standards. A safety-driven, flexible and co-operative mindset is to be demonstrated in this position of responsibility.
Supervisory Responsibility: Contractors (Occasional) Production Operators (Occasional)
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventative maintenance of all production equipment
- Fault-finding and breakdown repair
- Maintenance documentation including CMMS work orders and shift reports
- Assist in parts/stock control and stores organisation
- Planning and implementation of maintenance work and projects
Standards Required:
- Compliance with required safety systems and procedures including LOTO/JSA/SWMS/permits to work including Working at Height, Hot Work and Confined Space Entry – where applicable.
- Compliance with current Australian standards and statutory regulations
- Compliance with all policies, standards, and procedures.
- Promote safety and risk management initiatives
- Meet organisational requirements for expected workplace behaviours, quality management, health, and safety, environmental policies, and general duty of care.
- Compliance with all food regulatory, HACCP and BRC requirements.
- Observe and comply with all GMP requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
Trade qualified Fitter in Australia
Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience in a FMCG production facility - preferably with the food manufacturing industry.
- Experience in stainless steel welding and fabrication
- Experience of compressed air, hydraulic and steam applications
- Strong attention to detail.
- The ability to work both as a team member and alone in an autonomous manner.
- Good planning, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Ability to maintain cross-functional relationships
