Maintenance Fitter - Fixed Plant

In 2020, The Mt Cuthbert Group (Copper Resources Australia) acquired the Rocklands site, approx. 17km west of Cloncurry and since then, the site has undergone an intense re-commissioning phase. Now fully operational, the Maintenance Fitter is part of the robust Rocklands maintenance team, who are committed to ensuring the very best in service is delivered to back to the business.

This position provides for the safe and effective maintenance and servicing of Fixed Plant and general maintenance on the mine site in accordance with Statutory Requirements and Company Standards.

About you:

You must love variety - mechanical tasks include the maintenance of Fixed Plant process operations (mill, crusher, floatation) and general maintenance of other equipment, offices and buildings where required. 

You will need to be able to demonstrate good fault-finding skills and have the ability and resolve to work unsupervised.

You will be committed to safe working practises and look for solutions with a positive and "can do" attitude.

To be successful you will need to have:

• Minimum certificate III engineering qualification (fitter)
• Fixed-plant, crusher and shutdown experience highly desirable 
• Working at heights (150kg equipment rating applies)
• First aid training and a good understanding of OH&S (desirable)
• Organisational, people and planning skills
• Good working knowledge of diagnostic readers
• Risk assessment training or current mine induction
• Current drivers licence 
• Successfully complete pre employment background checks including medical

The role is offered as a 14/14 FIFO position from Brisbane, Cairns or Townsville, or DIDO Mt Isa, with meals and accommodation provided at the site camp. If you choose to live in Cloncurry, a generous residential allowance is also available.
