About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated, and qualified Maintenance Fitter to help lead the Maintenance department at our Appin Quarry.
You must have a strong commitment to safety, with a ‘hands on’ approach to assist the team to achieve high levels of safety, preventative maintenance, and production efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting routine maintenance and repair work on quarry machinery, including crushers, mobile earthmoving equipment, and vehicles.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritise and schedule repairs and maintenance.
- Assist and maintain accurate records for maintenance activities and equipment status.
- Assist to upskill the maintenance staff to improve reliability and eliminate reoccurring issues on site.
- Steel fabrication and welding of new and replacement parts.
- Gas cutting, gas welding, arc welding and mig welding.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Hold a current trade certificate as a fitter, diesel mechanic, boilermaker or similar.
- Have experience working on repairing crushing & screening equipment.
- Have prior experience in planning and carrying out preventative maintenance, including preparing a maintenance schedule.
- Have previous experience in fabrication and welding.
- Be able to troubleshoot and perform breakdown repairs.
- Be committed to safety and have a proactive approach to hazard identification.
