Job description

To provide effective supervision of Network South East Queensland (SEQ) Asset Management operations, namely vegetation control and relevant corridor issues such as fencing, graffiti, and trackside drainage issues

What Queensland Rail has to offer:

  • Permanent Full-Time role
  • Working with our Outer North Team your Depot would be Sunshine, your area of responsibility would be (but not limited to) Strathpine to Landsborough and Petrie to Kippa-Ring.
  • Flexibility regarding start and finish locations (not always required to start and finish at  the depot).
  • Working a 9-day fortnight, typical working hours are 6.30am - 3.30pm.
  • Base of $94,560 plus penalty rates, plus 12.75% super
  • Opportunities to work additional shifts with some overtime.
  • On going training will be provided
  • Strong focus on safety – we ‘work safe’ every day to ensure everyone goes ‘home safe’
  • A work vehicle will be provided for you to use during your shift.

 

About our Team:

This position sits within our Corridor Maintenance Outer North Team where you will report directly to the Work Coordinator Predict and Corridor. This is a highly autonomous role, most of the work will be outdoors and a lot of driving would be required.

 

About the role:

  • Ensure asset condition is maintained to the required standard, including planning and conducting asset condition inspections, collating all incoming reports, arrange appropriate response/ repair, and ensuring appropriate action is taken to rectify defects and faults.
  • Supervise day to day operations of internal and external parties.
  • Carry out works within area of responsibility including development and verification of suitability of scope, in-progress and final completion inspections, ensuring achievement of scope and quality standards, follow up on non-conformances, final signoff, and any required audit and assurance activities.
  • Ensure proposed works are appropriately funded, including management of quotes from contractors for works to be carried out.
  • Plan and obtain all required track and overhead traction protection to perform works within  the rail corridor.
  • Liaise with adjoining property owners (when required).

About you

  • Hold a current C class driver licence
  • Have excellent planning skills.
  • Safety focused attitude.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Have excellent computer and hand held device skills.
