About the role
- Discharge HSE responsibilities incorporating the implementation and maintenance of safe systems of work.
- Provide leadership to the workshop maintenance crews to achieve the maintenance plan.
- Work to priorities as advised by Maintenance Superintendents.
- Work with Maintenance Superintendents to ensure quality maintenance performance, including asset availability and reliability.
- Effectively contribute as a member of the maintenance leadership team to help deliver department goals and outcomes.
- Promote a culture of continual improvement throughout the team.
- Work with Maintenance Superintendents to ensure effective resource allocation such as people, equipment, support equipment to meet maintenance work targets.
- Track maintenance performance and ensure operational issues are managed and communicated in a timely manner.
- Work with Maintenance Superintendents to review plant performance and oversee the implementation of remedial or preventative actions where required.
- Monitor subcontractor work to ensure it is carried out in accordance with business requirements.
- Ensure Maintenance Employees maintain safe systems of work.
- Hold team members accountable for their actions and areas of responsibility.
- Liaise with Maintenance Superintendents in developing daily, weekly and monthly work plans.
- Liaise with Maintenance Superintendents to ensure plant availability needed to meet production requirements.
- Communicate to Maintenance Employees’ objectives (ongoing and improvement), measures and targets, monitor performance against expectations and facilitate training, coaching and other development activities.
- Ensure investigation, counselling or disciplinary action is applied in line with company procedures.
Lifestyle:
- EPSA is seeking a Maintenance Leading Hand to be permanently employed by the company on a full-time basis.
- The role will be based at our Callide Mine, near Biloela in Queensland,on a rotating day & night shifts roster.
To be successful you will have:
- Current Australian Driver’s License
- First aid certification
- S11, S123, G2 tickets
- Working Safely at Heights & Working in Confined Space Tickets
- Trade qualifications and any other relevant tickets
- Minimum 5 years mining experience in the maintenance of mining plant and equipment
- Previous experience in supervisory roles (Leading Hand experience considered but direct supervisory experience preferred)
- Demonstrate positive safety leadership skills and safety behaviour
- Effective people management and development experience and skills
- Experience working for a medium to large mine operator/contractor
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Work Planning and scheduling skills
- Willingness and ability to pass pre-employment check including drug and alcohol test
