Based in the North Adelaide and Parafield Gardens, as our invaluable Maintenance Officer, you will be accountable for the provision of essential safety, preventative and breakdown maintenance in consultation with the Property Services Department & Maintenance Team Leader.
The Maintenance Officer also completes regulatory equipment checks and assists with a variety of housekeeping and support service functions to ensure optimum standards in the physical environment of the site.
You’ll also make an impact by:
Providing oversight of contracted services in accordance with organisational policies and guidelines.
Ensuring the maintenance of external environments including sweeping of verandas, pergolas, entrances and driveways.
Responding to building or equipment problems and determine degree and urgency of work and liaising with contractors.
Ensuring hot water systems and plant rooms are clean and maintained in accordance with legislative requirements.
Undertaking visual testing of all electrical appliances for new residents and completed relevant forms required for follow up testing and tagging.
Providing assistance with other housekeeping and personal care needs as required.
Working effectively with other staff members in one-to-one interactions, team meetings and on the general work of the program.
Authorising the purchase of items for site maintenance requirements in accordance with delegated authority, recording and monitoring expenditure using the sites budget tracker.
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a building maintenance and/or fixed plant.
Ability to provide clear and concise verbal and written instructions related to maintenance issues.
Good verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.
Ability to interact with building technologies such as electronic lighting schedules, mechanical services software etc.
Experience in the use of Microsoft desktop products such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
Valid NDIS Worker Screening clearance or be willing to obtain one.
You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following:
A trade qualification or certificate related to maintenance or trade-work
Experience working with older persons
Salary/Hourly Rate: $26.35 per hour plus Super
