AddressMicronised Minerals Australia is seeking a hard-working and driven Maintenance & Operations Manager to join our growing business. This role will work with the Micronised Minerals team of experts who provide a range of services at the East Arm production facility and occasionally at remote sites. You will be responsible for day-to-day activity of managing the inventory and upkeep of the warehouse operations and as the Maintenance manager, you will be responsible for reporting of equipment upkeep requirements including routine maintenance schedules, repairs, and equipment working order.

Micronised Minerals Australia (MMS) is a locally owned and operated supplier of bulk mineral products in East Arm, Darwin. We are Northern Australia’s Lime specialist with a range of products supplying many industries including mining, oil & gas, agriculture, and civil. Many of our products are produced in-house using our automated milling plant and machinery. MMS provides a whole of service for clients from manufacturing through to product delivery.
In combination with mineral supply services, MMS also provides mining and remediation projects with a bespoke water treatment service for in-situ water reagent dosing. These projects are typically located at remote sites and are undertaken over several weeks to months.
Essential Experience/requirements
- Experience in a warehousing, operator, or mechanical maintenance role 3 - 5 years
- Australian citizen, permanent resident or possess current visa permitting work in Australia
- Strong drive for self-management and learning
Qualifications
- Current Forklift Licence
- Current Drivers Licence
- Cert 2 or higher in Warehousing, or other similar field of study (or equivalent work experience)
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- EWP License
- Front end load operator experience
- Large forklift experience up to 30 tonnes
- Mechanical maintenance experience
Tasks & responsibilities
The core duty of the Maintenance and Operations Manager is to work in the Micronised Minerals Warehouse operating the Milling plant to produce MMS products and controlling inventory for incoming and outgoing stock. Along with these day-to-day operations they organise the maintenance and upkeep of the plant, vehicles and facilities, and undertake maintenance tasks with direction from the managing director.
In addition, this role is responsible for:
- keeping track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times and efficiency,
- maintaining effective communication with management on product supply timelines and import re-order schedules,
- maintaining metrics and analysing operations to assess performance and implement improvements,
- loading products onto trucks & filling pneumatic tankers,
- inspecting products to ensure quality is maintained,
- adhering to WHS policies including always wearing Personal Protection Equipment and ensuring safety of themselves and others.
- communicating with other operators regarding:
o machinery working condition and issues,
o product quality,
o and maintenance schedules and duties.
