Position Overview
Kotahi Consulting are seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join a well-regarded mid-tier construction contractor on one of their complex mining infrastructure projects in PNG. You will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of their mobile plant fleet which includes drilling equipment, earthworks machinery, and light vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed maintenance plans and schedules for mobile plant equipment.
- Coordinate with project leaders to ensure timely execution of maintenance activities to ensure availability of plant and equipment
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify maintenance needs and prioritize tasks.
- Utilize knowledge of hydraulics and diesel fitting to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Ensure compliance with equipment maintenance schedules and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor equipment performance and reliability, implementing improvements as necessary.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner in a similar industry, preferably within construction or mining.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics and diesel fitting, with the ability to diagnose and understand required parts and timing.
- Excellent planning and coordination skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in computer skills with experience with maintenance management software (MEX preferred).
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance schedules and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a FIFO (fly-in-fly-out) environment on a 22:22 roster.
