Commodore Mine
Located adjacent to the Millmerran Power Station, the Commodore Mine is the power station's sole source of coal fuel supply. The BUMA Australia team have been providing a total mine service to Millmerran Power Partners since September 2001, delivering typically 3.6 million tonnes of raw coal per year to the power station.
We are responsible for the operation and management of the mine and associated activities, including providing mine planning and design expertise, drill and blast services, overburden stripping, coal mining and rehabilitation.
The Commodore project employs around 140 people, including staff, mine operations and equipment maintenance personnel. The majority of the workforce has been employed from the local community.
Our fleet comprises a combination of Caterpillar 785, 789 and 777 haul trucks in conjunction with Hitachi EX3600 and Liebherr R9350/ R994B excavators.
Job description:
We are seeking a full time Maintenance Planner to join our team, on a 9 day fortnight roster. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, your focus will be to ensure the fleet is maintained in a safe, reliable and cost-effective way that enables the business to achieve performance targets. Working closely with the engineering and maintenance execution team, this pivotal role is responsible for:
- Work with Maintenance Superintendents to ensure quality maintenance performance, including asset availability and reliability
- Preparation and delivery of the weekly maintenance plan for equipment
- Providing technical support and advice to the operation
- Managing work order data and maintenance documentation
- Controlling maintenance expenditure
- Interacting during execution events to continuously improve planning accuracy
- Develop task plans for the execution of both routine and one-off maintenance activities.
- Schedule day-to-day servicing of all equipment and major component change outs and equipment overhauls
- Identify critical spare parts to be held in stock on site, setting these parts up in stock with sufficient Min Max levels
- Review standards and processes associated with the role, identifying areas for improvement and either implementing those improvements where it is within your authority, or recommending the improvement to the Maintenance Superintendent
- Identifying and proactively initiating maintenance improvement opportunities
Profile description:
About You
- Trade certificate or tertiary qualifications
- Significant experience in planning and scheduling
- In depth knowledge of plant and machinery within the mining environment and provision of consistent maintenance, planning and servicing practices
- Knowledge of mine operation regulatory and legislative requirements
- Ability to work effectively autonomously and as part of a team
- A strong work ethic and an eye for detail coupled with the ability to work autonomously, work to deadlines and within tight time frames
- Right to permanently live and work in Australia
