The Site
Our Chelsea Heights site is located in Melbourne’s south-east, manufacturing a range of more than 44 milk, milk-based beverages and cream products. The site currently produces around 100 million litres of product every year – processing, packing, and delivering 24 hours a day, six days a week.
The Role
We currently have a position for a Maintenance Technician. You will be working in a fast-paced environment maintaining mechanical equipment in our Blow moulding area. Our blow moulders produce over 100 thousand 2 litre bottles for our packaging hall every day and are a critical part of our manufacturing plant. This position works predominantly Monday to Friday with a rotating roster for Saturdays and weekend on-call.
Responsibilities
This role is responsible for providing repair and maintenance support on a daily basis and would suit someone with a continuous improvement mindset to ensure the safety, quality and productivity of the plant. Specifically, you will be responsible for the following:
Assess equipment and subsequently perform maintenance tasks to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability of mechanical equipment
Troubleshooting to determine root cause of failed production equipment
Conduct daily housekeeping duties eg recording of wok completed, job cost allocations, maintaining records etc
Ensure standards and quality of work are carried in line with safe engineering work practices, legal and food safety requirements
Timely breakdown rectification and execution of planned maintenance tasks
Understand benchmarking and implement plans for continuous improvement opportunities.

About you
Relevant Mechanical Trade Certificate and licences
Additional hydraulic and pneumatic qualifications are advantageous
Strong ability to fault find and root cause mechanical breakdowns
Experience in the beverage or food manufacturing industry
