Job brief
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Worker to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional. General maintenance experience will be widely regarded with the ability to work across multiple disciplines, including carpentry, joinery, plastering, painting, and tiling
Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge. You must also possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing general maintenance services. You will work autonomously to maintain high standards across your sites, provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships.
You must be willing travel remotely to support the other Kimberley teams (not just in Broome), although this won’t be very frequent.
Currently this position is around 25 hours a week.
$30 - $36 per hour + employee benefits and KM allowance

Responsibilities
- Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.
- Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
- Install appliances and equipment
- Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash, fixing reticulation systems (if necessary) etc.
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation)
- Check functionality of safety systems
- Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations
- Report to House Managers and CEO for issues
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as Maintenance Worker or building contractor or other similar position
- Have own vehicle
- Have own toolkit
- Be willing to obtain NDIS Screening Check and WWC due to the nature of the care industry.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Experience using hand and electrical tools
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity
