The Opportunity
We have multiple opportunities based at our manufacturing plant in Glendenning where you will work on various electrical systems and equipment in preventative maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
The role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, codes, and safety procedures. You will work collaboratively with the maintenance and production teams and other departments.
What you'll be doing with us
- Carry out all electrical components and devices installation and repairing in safe manner and ensure that all electrical equipment is maintained in safe working order
- Ensure that all factory lighting is working at maximum efficiency
- Carry out preventive maintenance to all electrical equipment and complete electrical PMs as per PM activities mentioned in the list
- Ensure assigned electrical corrective work orders are completed and on time and escalate as required
- Carry out project work as directed by Maintenance Manager
- Maintain housekeeping in electricians’ area of workshop to promote safe working conditions
- Maintain 'special process' equipment and adequately monitor performance to ensure quality requirements (e.g., temperature controller pinhole detector, thickness gauge)
- Maintain and carry out all electrical work to building and machinery
- Ensure that breakdown details are logged into machine logbooks after fixing breakdowns
- Attend to break downs, fault finding and repair
- Diagnostics of break down using PLC software of Siemens, Allan Bradley, and customised control modules
- Troubleshoot and resolve faults in VSDs and VFDs using software
- Root cause analysis and actively engage in initiatives to improve electrical reliability in terms of durability of electrical parts
- Carry out maintenance on electrical DBs (Distribution Boards) and maintain site main LT panel to ensure its safe working condition
- Regular checks on site PFC (Power Factor Correction) unit to ensure its smooth run
- Shut down work at predetermined intervals
- Maintenance documentation on a CMMS system
- Carry out thermographic testing on site electrical panels using site thermographic instrument
- Risk assessment participation
What you'll need to succeed
- Current Unrestricted Electrical Licence
- Scissor lift / Boom Lift / Fork Truck Licence is an advantage
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as an Electrician
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment, including AC motors, PLCs, HMIs, Control circuits including Relay circuits,
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve faults using appropriate software
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Familiarity with Australian electrical codes and regulations
- Flexibility to work across different start and finish times
