The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Management Accountant to join our dynamic team based in Caboolture. As a key member of the finance department, you will play a vital role in providing accurate and timely financial information to support strategic decision-making across the organisation. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounting function, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate financial transactions and negotiations to meet organisational objectives.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
- Develop and implement internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Ensure compliance with taxation regulations by accurately preparing and filing tax returns.
- Manage and maintain budgets and forecasts, and monitor variances against actual performance.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to support organizational decision-making processes.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Evaluate cash flow projections and assess financial risks associated with new projects.
- Liaise with external auditors and ensure timely responses to inquiries.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Drive innovation in accounting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related tasks as assigned, including but not limited to advice on mergers and capital investments.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor of Accounting or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the raise boring industry.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and relevant tax regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software like MYOB, Xero, or similar.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
